According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Jean-Matteo Bahoya on an initial loan, with a mandatory clause worth about €30m, roughly £26m, that activates at the end of the season. Authorisation for a medical has been granted.
Leeds had been hunting attacking reinforcements deep into deadline day after promising supporters that most of their budget would go on the forward line. Earlier, the club completed a loan-to-buy for French defender Mervin Bard from Nice to bolster competition for Gabi Gudmundsson.
Interest in Bahoya surfaced recently, with Hull City strongly linked earlier this month before failing to reach an agreement. Leeds have now moved for the 21-year-old.
The report added that the player has given the green light and that all is set for Leeds, with a loan agreed and a mandatory purchase clause included.
If finalised, Bahoya would give Leeds another option capable of beating defenders and adding spark in the final third. A successful medical would clear the way for completion.
