Melvin Bard joins Leeds on loan to bolster defence | OneFootball

Leeds United have completed the signing of French left-back Melvin Bard  from Nice on an initial season-long loan, with an option to make the move permanent.

The 25-year-old becomes the Whites’ sixth signing of the summer as they continue to strengthen their squad.

Bard began his career in Lyon’s academy before making his senior debut in 2019. He joined Nice in 2021 and went on to make 193 appearances across five seasons, gaining valuable experience in European competition.

The versatile defender featured in both the Europa Conference League and Europa League during his time at the Allianz Riviera, including eight appearances as Nice reached the Conference League quarter-finals.

Bard also represented France throughout the youth levels and played twice for the country at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

He now arrives at Elland Road looking to help Leeds build on their 14th-place finish last season.
