Leeds United sign Michael Zetterer as Lucas Perri joins Torino on loan | OneFootball

Leeds United have signed Michael Zetterer from Eintracht Frankfurt for £4.27m on a three-year deal, their fifth summer addition. He arrives as back-up to £40m signing James Trafford, while Lucas Perri has joined Torino on a season-long loan.

According to Leeds Live, the loan includes an option to buy, with sources in Italy putting it at around £12m. Perri holds Italian citizenship, so he will not take a non-European slot.

Leeds moved once Frankfurt lined up a replacement, with Noah Atobolu’s arrival confirmed the day Zetterer travelled to the UK. Perri flew after recovering from a quad injury to smooth the medical.

Zetterer completes this season’s goalkeeping group, with Trafford the clear number one and Alex Cairns third choice. He played 29 times for Frankfurt last term but could see limited minutes at Elland Road. If Trafford stays fit and Leeds exit the FA Cup in round three, the German might feature only once.

Daniel Farke said the club are upfront with recruits and, given Trafford’s record fee, it is likely he plays, though selection rests on performance and goalkeeper changes are seldom immediate. Unless the clause is triggered, Perri, signed for £13.9m last summer as number one, is due back next year. Leeds have spent about £85m on four players including Trafford, Tarik Muharemovic and Nico Elvedi, with free agent Harry Wilson also added.
