Lucas Perri’s potential switch from Leeds United to Torino remains alive, with the Serie A outfit still engaged in talks over the shot-stopper.

A move to Turin for Perri had appeared to be on the verge of completion in the closing stages of last month, with indications pointing towards a done deal and only the medical standing between the Brazilian and completing his move.

Yet the transfer has lingered in limbo, with the delay stretching on without a definitive resolution.

The 28-year-old suffered an injury during pre-season, which contributed to the hold-up, while Marseille also entered the picture in the meantime with their own interest in the Brazilian.

More recently, Torino’s doubts over signing Perri emerged, with the Italian side weighing up whether to press ahead with the deal.

The proposed structure was understood to involve an initial €1m loan fee for the Serie A outfit, followed by a €14m option to buy next summer.

Torino want to be completely convinced, not least about Perri’s fitness, before they commit to the deal.

And, according to Italian journalist Giacomo Morandin, Torino are still negotiating with Leeds over Perri, with a move for the goalkeeper still possible.

However, Turin is still far from certain to become the Brazilian’s destination this summer, with the transfer yet to reach a definitive stage.

With Torino continuing to negotiate, though, a deal could still take shape for Perri, who is keen on a fresh start elsewhere after losing his status as Leeds’ first-choice goalkeeper.

Daniel Farke’s new man between the posts, James Trafford, kept a clean sheet on his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, helping the Whites secure a 1-0 victory.

Leeds had been expected to bring in Eintracht Frankfurt custodian Michael Zetterer to provide cover between the sticks, although that move has since been cast into doubt.

Therefore, should Perri leave Yorkshire, the Peacocks would need to find another goalkeeper to sit behind Trafford before the window closes.
