According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds United rejected approaches from several clubs for Noah Okafor, including a £35m deadline-day bid, with the club viewing him as a key player and the forward happy to stay.

There is no doubt they would have accepted that figure earlier in the window with time to replace him.

Turning down a last-minute offer was the correct call. Yet a bid lodged a fortnight earlier likely would have been accepted, and £35m would have instantly doubled Leeds' spend.
