Leeds United are likely to pull the plug on Willy Gnonto’s move to Fiorentina if they cannot get a move for Eintracht Frankfurt speedster Jean-Matteo Bahoya over the line.
The Whites have agreed to loan Gnonto to Fiorentina for the season, with La Viola having an option to buy included in the deal.
Gnonto was videoed arriving in Florence on Monday night and, already in Fiorentina club gear, expressed his delight about the move.

Down the pecking order at Elland Road, Gnonto is enthusiastic about getting his first chance to play in Italy’s Serie A, but it may well collapse at the last minute.
Leeds are going for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Bahoya, clocked as the quickest player in the Bundesliga, but the deal is tough to do so late.

And a failure to get it over the line could have a massive impact on Gnonto.
Journalist Alex Crook wrote on X: “If Leeds cannot get this deal done then Gnonto move to Fiorentina likely to be scrapped. Italian deadline is 7pm UK time.”
It had been suggested on Monday that Leeds were holding off on granting Gnonto permission to fly to Italy as they wanted a replacement in the building first.
When Gnonto did fly to Italy though on Monday night it seemed very much that the deal was done, something seeing him in Fiorentina club gear only underlined.
If Leeds pull the plug on his switch to La Viola at the last minute it will be a huge blow to the winger.

He has struggled to convince Daniel Farke to play him on a regular basis, with the German preferring other wingers.
Gnonto would be set for a spell as cover at Leeds if he is forced to come back from Italy.
Fiorentina are also operating with a shorter deadline day than Leeds are, meaning Gnonto and La Viola will be crossing their fingers for Leeds to land Bahoya quickly.
