Lille’s Ethan Mbappé receives three-game Champions League ban | OneFootball

Ethan Mbappé (19) has received a three-game ban for his red card in Lille OSC’s UEFA Champions League opener against Real Betis earlier this month.

Mbappé was shown a straight red card in the 56th minute of the fixture, just after the Spanish side netted their third and ultimately deciding goal (2-3). The Frenchman, brother of Real Madrid forward Kylian, raised his arm into the face of Natan just as play was set to resume. It was missed by the referee but not by VAR. A straight red card was brandished and Mbappé has now learned the consequences of his action.

Suspended for Arsenal encounter

The verdict from UEFA is a three-game ban. As a result, the France youth international will miss the trip to Arsenal on 13th October. He will also miss the home matches against Galatasaray and Bodo/ Glimt. The Paris Saint-Germain academy product will, however, return in time to face Bayern Munich.
