The push has intensified after possible injuries to Lucas Veríssimo, Neymar and Barreal. All three are due to undergo tests on Friday to assess problems sustained in Wednesday’s draw with Palmeiras in the Copa do Brasil.

Cuca called the situation tough, pointing to a schedule across two competitions after an earlier elimination and to their deep run in the Copa Sudamericana. He added that losing three players when two had just arrived leaves the team in deficit.
