Samuel Lino left the field visibly annoyed during Flamengo’s 2-0 win over Mirassol at the Maracanã, his reaction on being withdrawn catching the eye.
Earlier he had helped construct the opener, finding Pedro before the move ended with Carrascal scoring. At 37 minutes of the second half he was replaced by Everton Cebolinha, with the scoreline effectively decided. According to Coluna Do Fla, online lip-reading around the change suggested he swore and complained about not receiving the ball, and neither reading identified the teammate, with influencer Velloso and voice actor Gustavo Machado reaching similar conclusions.
Lino later said the match and the surface had left him irritated, adding that moves were breaking down because the pitch was not helping.
Leonardo Jardim explained that Lino initially walked past him before being called back to greet, and that the player was upset by errors and a slippery turf.
Flamengo visit Remo on Sunday 06 at 16:00 Brasília time at the Mangueirão in Belém in the 26th round of the Brasileirão, offering Lino a chance to put the episode behind him.
