Luis de la Fuente extends Spain contract to 2032 | OneFootball

Luis de la Fuente will remain Spain head coach until 2032 after the Spanish federation announced unanimous board approval of a six-season extension.

The new term runs through EURO 2032, to be staged in Türkiye and Italy.

It sets up campaigns at EURO 2028, the 2030 World Cup and EURO 2032, plus Nations League editions in 2027, 2029 and 2031.

De la Fuente took over in December 2022, debuting early 2023 after Luis Enrique. He has been with the RFEF since 2013, coaching the under-19s and under-21s.

His deal comes with a significant pay rise and reflects a stellar spell with the senior side, lifting the Nations League, the European Championship and the 2026 World Cup. The only tournament he did not win was the 2025 Nations League, lost to Portugal on penalties.

The agreement will be formally presented at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas with De la Fuente and leading figures from the Spanish game in attendance. Spain begin the next Nations League this September and early October against England, Croatia and Czech Republic.
