Monaco goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky and head coach Filipe Luis voiced regret for Paul Pogba after confirmation he will leave the club.

The pair addressed the situation on Wednesday. According to L'Équipe, Pogba will initially continue to train in Monaco as he recovers, with access to the club’s facilities.

Hradecky said it was a shame their time together did not move to a higher level. He felt Pogba set standards for younger team-mates with his professionalism, noted injuries had piled up, and wished him a swift recovery and the chance to keep playing elsewhere.

Filipe Luis expressed sympathy, explaining he had little opportunity to see Pogba in action. He said Pogba trained in the first week, then encountered problems and was unable to work consistently with the group.

The coach added that the club decided to terminate Pogba’s contract. He called Pogba a great person and an excellent player, and wished him a prompt recovery and the best for the future.
