Roma are yet to complete their squad, and Gian Piero Gasperini is expecting an attacking reinforcement in the final hours of the transfer window.

The Giallorossi coach hopes to bring to Trigoria the right-footed left-back he’s been coveting for over a year, and one of the most likely prospects could be Lyon’s Malick Fofana.

The Belgian talent was a key figure in the first leg of the Champions League playoffs, and on Wednesday the 27th, Fonseca hopes to see him at his best for the return leg in France. The French coach himself spoke thus about his player during the pre-match press conference.

“We’re not worried about selling Malick. If we wanted to sell him now, we’d already have offers. The club has rejected several offers because they strongly believe in this player: he has great qualities and a very high market value,” the Portuguese coach stated.

If Roma want to bring him to Trigoria, they’ll have to shell out a fee slightly higher than €35 million.

The decision is up to the Friedkins: Fofana has already given his general approval to the Giallorossi and would be happy to move to the capital, but an agreement between the clubs is still pending.
