Levi Colwill is on schedule with his recovery and there is hope he could play before the end of the season according to reports.
Chelsea lost Colwill to an ACL injury before the start of the season in a major blow, and despite public pleas from Enzo Maresca for a new centre back his wish wasn’t granted.
Losing the England international was a major blow given how important he is for the team, especially with how Maresca likes to build up from the back.
Chelsea have without doubt struggled with Colwill’s absence, and have made a number of defensive mistakes in the early part of the season.
Joe Cole feels Chelsea haven’t coped well without Colwill, but the Blues managed to record back to back clean sheets for the first time since May in recent wins over Tottenham and Wolves.

Not settling on a centre back pairing has proved a problem for Maresca, but it appears his preferred choice is Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana.
The sooner the England international is back the better it will be for the Blues, and Colwill was pictured working in the gym last month.
Mail Sport have reported the 22-year-old’s recovery is going perfectly to plan, and he’s been off crutches for a month.
The report adds there’s been no setbacks in the recovery, and there is hope he could feature before the end of the season.
There are signs that Chelsea are improving on the defensive front, and the Blues have conceded 11 goals in 11 games.

A large number of those goals have been down to individual mistakes, but having kept clean sheets in back to back league games, it seems the Blues could be turning a corner.
Maresca needs to stick with a consistent partnership, and Chelsea should start reap the rewards of being settled in a key area of the pitch.
