Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainova have extended their strategic partnership by another three years.
Partnership extended until at least 2028: Dr. Michael Maxelon, Mainova CEO, and Axel Hellmann, Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG CEO.
Having been with the club for 23 years, Frankfurt-based company Mainova AG is Eintracht’s most loyal partner. That successful collaboration, which has seen the club pass a number of milestones since the two parties first joined forces in 2002, has now been extended by another three years. The energy service provider will remain the club’s strategic partner, with a particular focus on the men’s and women’s first teams, a partner for a sustainable future, and the official energy partner of Eintracht Frankfurt and Deutsche Bank Park until at least 2028. Special fan experience projects and digitalisation initiatives with EintrachtTech will also remain an important part of the collaboration over the coming years.
Working together on sustainability issues has become a key focus for both parties in recent times. In 2024, a new photovoltaic system with 1,288 modules was installed on the roof of Deutsche Bank Park, generating around 500,000 kilowatt hours of climate-friendly solar power per year. A solar power system, complete with intelligent energy and charging infrastructure solutions, has also been installed in the ProfiCamp car park. Other successfully implemented measures include a reliable energy and water supply at Deutsche Bank Park, and an environmentally friendly heating and cooling supply at the ProfiCamp.
“Mainova is one of our longest-serving and most loyal partners, and our relationship is characterised by a particularly friendly cooperation,” said Axel Hellmann, CEO of Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG. “I’m therefore all the more delighted that we’re extending our partnership for another three years. Our hearts beat as one, in and for the Rhine-Main region, which is exactly where you need partners who are committed to the challenges of the area. Mainova addresses key supply issues that are essential for sustainable growth and prosperity in this region. The many transformation projects pose major challenges that need to be planned with foresight and communicated effectively to the public. Where we’re able to do this together, we’re very happy to help as a central point of contact for the people of the region.”
Dr. Michael Maxelon, CEO of Mainova, added: “Mainova and Eintracht Frankfurt – a stable partnership with history and a future. For over 20 years, we’ve been connected by more than just a sponsorship logo. It’s a shared understanding of responsibility for the people and companies of the Rhine-Main region. Whether it’s a shared passion for sport, identity-building togetherness, or a secure and environmentally friendly energy supply, we’re shaping the future together in this area. Landmarks such as Deutsche Bank Park and the Eintracht Frankfurt ProfiCamp are the crown jewels of our partnership, due to their high visibility and popularity. That’s why we’re issuing this statement of continuity.”
