Manchester United stretched their unbeaten run to five matches, yet the 2-2 draw with Tottenham felt like a test of resilience more than anything else. The late Matthijs de Ligt header in the 96th minute salvaged a point, but the dramatic finale masked a growing issue that could define the coming weeks. Man United are dealing with a cluster of injuries, several involving first team regulars, and the timing is far from ideal.
Ruben Amorim saw his side finish the game with ten men because Benjamin Sesko had to limp off after all substitutions had been used. That moment captured the challenge facing the squad, particularly with Everton waiting straight after the international break and the campaign entering a key phase. Below is a breakdown of the current Man United injury situation, including updates and projected return dates.
Benjamin Sesko had looked sharp before a superb recovery tackle from Micky van de Ven denied him a likely goal. Moments later he headed down the tunnel, clearly uncomfortable with his knee.
Amorim gave an honest assessment after the match, saying, “That [his recent form] is not the biggest concern now,” and added, “I’m concerned with an injury, because it is in the knee, and I don’t know. We need Ben [Sesko] to be a better team. We have to check. He has something in his knee. Let’s see.”
Sesko has now withdrawn from Slovenia duty and at this stage the club have offered no firm prognosis. The hope internally is that the issue is not long term, although a confirmed timeline remains unavailable.
Potential return date: Unknown
Harry Maguire returned to the starting line up ahead of the Spurs match, yet his afternoon ended early due to a hamstring problem. His recent stop start rhythm has been frustrating, although the two week pause in club action gives him a chance to settle the injury without rushing.

United believe the defender will recover in time for the Everton clash, provided there are no setbacks during the international break.

Casemiro also left the pitch at the same time as Maguire and the impact was felt immediately as Tottenham took advantage of his absence in midfield. The Brazilian has nonetheless joined up with his national team, which indicates the problem is not considered serious.
United staff remain confident he will be fully available for the Premier League restart.

Kobbie Mainoo was ruled out just before kick off with what has been described as a minor knock. His absence allowed Jack Fletcher to take a place on the bench and continue the club’s proud academy representation streak, which stretches back to 1937.
Mainoo is expected to return immediately after the break, giving Amorim another midfield option at a time when depth is increasingly important.
