Marti Cifuentes has made personality a key factor in Leicester City’s January plans, with the club seeking attacking reinforcements and yet to add to the squad.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, City want to bolster their forward line this month and have been linked with GAIS forward Ibrahim Diabate.

Mentality remains a recurring theme for Cifuentes, and it surfaced again after Tuesday’s draw with Wrexham. He felt frustration set in after conceding first and urged his players to stay composed until the final whistle.

On recruitment, Cifuentes said he will vet targets and seek personal references to assess character. “For me, personality is massive,” he said, adding that recruitment goes beyond video clips and is about finding the right fit for now and where City want to go.

He believes the qualities required depend on the group, the target and the situation, in the same way technical needs can vary.

Some frustration is understandable given the defensive record. City are 22 Championship games without a clean sheet, while the next longest run in the division is seven, at West Brom.
