Mohamed Sanhadji, logistics and security head for the France national team, was placed under formal investigation on 16 September for alleged corruption and influence peddling offences.
According to Le Progres, his judicial supervision bars contact with current and former national-team players and officials, and restricts him from FFF headquarters, Clairefontaine, the Stade de France and the Parc des Princes without judicial approval. He must post €80,000 bail.
He is also prohibited from working in the national police and from any paid role in professional sport, including with clubs or federations in France or abroad.
A long-time police officer assigned to the Bleus since 2004, he took early retirement after being sanctioned for accepting €60,300 from Kylian Mbappé following the 2022 World Cup without notifying his superiors.
The payment, drawn from Mbappé’s World Cup bonus, was later flagged to Tracfin, prompting a probe into undeclared work and the laundering of tax fraud, after which a judicial investigation was opened. Judges have cited suspected receipt of misappropriated public funds, active and passive corruption, and domestic and international influence peddling, along with fraud and laundering offences.
