Two summers ago, it was Lamine Camara who joined Monaco from Metz. Once again, it was following Les Grenats’ relegation to the second tier of French football. That move certainly worked out and the midfielder is now being linked with a big-money move to the Premier League.
Sané could become the next player to take the Génération Foot to Monaco via Metz route. As per L’Équipe, an agreement in principle has been reached between all parties. The deal must still be closed, but the defender is nearing a move worth up to €10m (€7m base fee plus €3m in bonuses).
Sané looks set to sign a deal with Les Monégasques that will run until 2031. More arrivals are expected, with deals for Nazinho and Mathys Detourbet both reportedly completed but not officialised.
