Mora brace rescues Mexico against Spain in FIFA U-20 World Cup

MIAMI – The FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025 continued on Wednesday, including Concacaf nation Mexico earning a 2-2 draw against Spain in Group C at Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago, Chile.
A brace from 16-year-old Gilberto Mora helped Mexico prevent Spain from rising in the standings. Mexico improved to two points while Spain was held in fourth place with one point.
Mora opened the scoring in the 32’ with a right-footed strike in the box, assisted by Alexei Domínguez.
Pablo García placed Spain back on level terms in the 42’ with a powerful hit from the top of the box.
Iker Bravo converted from the penalty spot in the 80’ to put Spain in front ahead of the closing stretch.
Mora completed his brace in the 87’ to rescue the draw for Mexico and split the points.
Mexico will close the Group Stage against Morocco on Saturday.
