Morocco overcame Haiti at the World Cup on Wednesday in a thrilling contest lit up by Achraf Hakimi, while Ayoub El-Kaabi endured a tough night.

According to L'Équipe, Haiti struck first when Guersyon Duverne’s cross forced a Bounou own goal on 10 minutes.

Wilson Isidor then unleashed a thunderous strike to restore the Grenadiers’ lead at 2-1 on 43 minutes.

Hakimi, Morocco’s captain, earned an 8 after an outstanding first half featuring a close-range finish and a superb assist at the end of a driving run. He was quieter after the break, but set the tone for the fightback.

Duverne received a 6 for his impact on both Haiti goals, including the pass that set up Isidor, while Isidor was also marked 6 for that pure, powerful effort.

El-Kaabi was graded 3 on his first start, lacking sharpness in front of goal and often out of sight for team-mates.

Salah-Eddine also scored 3, struggling before the interval and reacting too slowly to close Isidor on his shot.

Expérience was given 4, making some interventions yet finding Hakimi too much, winning only three of 12 duels, and he did not always get cover from Ruben Providence.

Diaz, rated 4, was sloppy, failing to react when Saibari’s header was intercepted by Isidor for his goal, and he was unusually wasteful in front of goal.
