Matchweek 24 brings one big question: can the frustrated teams respond?

Several sides head into this round with something to prove, whether after disappointing results or missed opportunities.

The headline fixture is Friday night’s showdown between Al Shabab and Al Hilal. The hosts are fighting to continue their upward trajectory with new manager Nourredine Ben Zekri, while the visitors are still reeling after slipping from top to third during the past two rounds.

With that in mind, here’s our recommendations for Matchweek 24, laid out nicely in a first XI, all while sticking to a budget of SAR 80 million.

--------

Goalkeeper

Edouard Mendy - Al Ahli (5.6 million)

The Al Ahli goalkeeper rewarded his backers in the rescheduled Matchweek 10 with a standout performance in his team’s 1-0 win at Damac - thus breaking the 10-point mark and recording his 10th clean sheet of the season. Mendy will look to continue that form when Al Ahli face Al Riyadh.

--------

Muhannad Al Shanqiti - Al Ittihad (5.2m)

The Al Ittihad defender ranks second among players in his position for goal contributions (goals + Fantasy assists), yet he’s selected by only 15.1 percent of managers - far lower than his output deserves. Al Shanqiti faces a tough test against Al Khaleej, especially with doubts over the availability of Danilo Pereira.

Roger Ibanez - Al Ahli (6.3m)

The Al Ahli centre-back is second among defenders in total Fantasy points with 158, and therefore is the most popular defensive pick in the game (48.4% ownership). Reliable and consistent, Ibanez remains a cornerstone for Fantasy managers.

Mohammed Abu Al Shamat - Al Qadsiah (6.2m)

The 23-year-old leads all defenders, with 171 total points, as well as topping the charts for assists and overall goal contributions. With an impressive average of nearly eight points per game, Abu Al Shamat is one of the safest picks this week as title-chasing Al Qadsiah host Al Taawoun.

--------

Midfield

Julian Quinones - Al Qadsiah (10.4m)

The serious golden-boot contender has the highest average points per game in Fantasy at nearly 12 per match. The first player to surpass 200 points this season, Quinones now leads the overall standings with 236, moving ahead after top-scorer rival Ivan Toney had a quieter round last time out.

Mourad Batna - Al Fateh (7.7m)

Among the 22 players who scored 10+ points last round, the RSL veteran was the only one to play more than a single half. Coming off the bench alongside Sofiane Bendebka, Batna netted in Al Fateh’s 2-1 win against Al Okhdood. His side open Matchweek 24 by welcoming Damac to Al Ahsa.

Yannick Carrasco - Al Shabab (7.4m)

Selecting the brilliant Belgian against Al Hilal may seem risky, but recent form says otherwise. Despite losing to Al Ahli two rounds ago, Carrasco still exceeded 10 points, then followed that with 13 more against Damac before adding a huge 24-point haul most recently with his hat-trick against Al Riyadh.

Opponent aside, managers continue to trust the Al Shabab star.

Khaled Al Ghannam - Al Ettifaq (4.8m)

After missing the last match because of suspension, the 2025-26 RSL’s standout Saudi returns as a budget-friendly option. With eight league goals placing him among the top 20 scorers this term, Al Ghannam offers strong value. Al Ettifaq travel to Al Hazem looking to recover from that 4-0 defeat in the Eastern Derby.

Malcom - Al Hilal (9.4m)

Al Hilal’s super Samba star thrives in high-intensity matches, and the all-Riyadh encounter against Al Shabab should suit him perfectly. After Al Hilal slipped two places in the table, expect Malcom to be highly motivated to respond - and the goals or assists to follow.

Malcom puts Al Hilal 1-0 up within 5 minutes of Saudi Clasico v Al Ittihad

Attack

Alexandre Lacazette - NEOM SC (6.8m)

The French forward was among the top-10 scorers last round and subsequently earned Man of the Match at Al Fayha. What’s more, Lacazette’s spectacular strike is nominated for the BSF Goal of the Week award. NEOM SC host Al Kholood in Matchweek 24’s closing clash.

Ivan Toney - Al Ahli (11.2m)

The 2025-26 RSL’s top scorer with 23 goals was surprisingly quiet at Damac.

However, history suggests Toney often responds explosively after a low-scoring Fantasy round; the only exception coming in Rounds 9 and 11, when he managed only 7 combined points - his lowest two-game total of the season. Back Toney, though, to respond at Al Riyadh.
