The 25-year-old had options in England, with West Ham and Leeds the most active. Both clubs made offers, and Nice chose Leeds.

The agreement is a loan costing €1m with an option to buy set at €5m. Bard is contracted until June 2028 and is close to a first move abroad.

He joined from Lyon in summer 2021 and has made 193 appearances in all competitions for Nice.
