Nice are in advanced talks with Al-Ittihad over Hicham Boudaoui, who has one year left on a deal to June 2027, according to L'Équipe.

He was among several players seen as at the end of a cycle at Nice, and after weeks of waiting he is close to leaving the Côte d’Azur. Discreet exchanges in recent days have pushed negotiations forward for the 37-cap Algeria international.

Closely tracked by Saudi clubs last summer, when ex-team-mates Marçin Bulka signed at Neom and Gaëtan Laborde at Al-Diraiyah, Boudaoui, 26, should also depart the Gym seven years after joining from Paradou (Algeria).

This summer he was keen to move, a stance shared by the hierarchy. He trained separately on Tuesday at the Gym’s training centre.

With this sale in the pipeline, OGCN are edging towards a €70m savings target in fees and wages set by owner Ineos. Mohamed-Ali Cho is also nearing a departure, with a switch to Hull City getting closer.
