Relegation-threatened OGC Nice line up for the Coupe de France final tonight at Stade de France against RC Lens. Although much of the focus obviously turns to next week’s two-legged Ligue 1 relegation play-off against Saint-Etienne, Les Aiglons could secure silverware and a place in next season’s Europa League group stage should they defy the odds in defeating Pierre Sage’s Lens.

Despite the importance of next week’s play-off, Claude Puel is expected to field a strong team against Les Sang et Or. The club’s old guard players – Dante, Morgan Sanson and Jonathan Clauss – are all poised to start tonight in Saint-Denis. The Brazilian centre-back will therefore start the antepenultimate game of his lengthy trophy-laden career.

Eintracht Frankfurt loanee Elye Wahi, who remains Lens’ record signing when he joined them from Montpellier for €30m in 2023, will look to haunt his former side.
