Nice must reshuffle up front after Elye Wahi suffered a serious right ankle sprain in the 2-0 loss at Lyon. According to L'Équipe, the on-loan striker faces several weeks out, with Terem Moffi already loaned to Porto in late January.
Wahi departed in the sixth minute at Groupama Stadium. Claude Puel moved Mohamed-Ali Cho to centre forward and brought on 19-year-old winger Kaïl Boudache.
On loan from Eintracht Frankfurt since early January, Wahi had started brightly with three goals in four Ligue 1 matches. If the lay-off lasts around a month, he would miss the Coupe de France quarter-final at Lorient and five league games.
Cho could again spearhead the attack, stretching teams and having covered the role before, notably in a 1-0 win over PSG. He is not a natural number nine, his finishing can be inconsistent despite a brace in a 4-1 win at Nantes on 25 January, and he is only just back from injury, so 90 minutes may be beyond him.
Other options include Kevin Carlos, a €6m Basel signing with three goals in 26 outings and more of a back-to-goal profile, and 21-year-old Zoumana Diallo, who featured at Poissy against PSG last Wednesday and has two Coupe starts under Franck Haise and Claude Puel, wins over Saint-Étienne and Montpellier, 2-1 and 3-2.
