Nottingham Forest complete signing of Ousmane Diomande | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Ousmane Diomande on a four-year deal.

The Ivory Coast international arrives at the City Ground from Portuguse side Sporting with Forest paying a fixed fee of €40 million (approx £34.1 million), with no add-ons, for the player’s registration. Diomande has now signed a deal running until 2030, with the club holding an option to extend it by a further year.

Diomande was on duty with Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup this summer, where he featured in just one match, against Curaçao. The defender did not play any pre-season games for Sporting, although he was named on the bench for the opening match of the Primeira Liga, against Estrela da Amadora last weekend.

The centre-back took his first steps in football at FC OSA, before moving to the youth setup at Midtjylland. In 2022/23, he was loaned to CD Mafra and, in January of that season, made the move to the Alvalade club, who paid €14.5 million for his services.

"I am very happy to be here," Diomande said after signing for Forest. 

"It is a historic club, and it motivates me to join such a club. I believe we can achieve very good things this season and I am looking forward to meeting the players and head coach.

"I will give my best and all I can to help the team. I cannot wait to meet the supporters at the City Ground and together we can have a good season."
