Nottingham Forest have confirmed Warren Joyce has left his role as Lead B Team Coach in the academy. The club said in a statement that he joined in July 2021, had been a valued member, and they thanked him for his contribution while wishing him well.
Joyce, a former Manchester United stalwart, arrived five years ago to take charge of the Under-18s before moving up to lead the B Team.
He oversaw the Under-18s’ run to the 2022 FA Youth Cup final, a first in Forest’s history, where they were beaten by Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Before Forest, Joyce managed Manchester United’s reserves for eight years, and also had first-team spells with Wigan Athletic and Melbourne City.
It has been a period of change across the club. In May, Craig Mulholland left his role as head of football development to become chief football officer at the Scottish FA.
Earlier this week, Vitor Pereira was dismissed as first-team head coach. He is set to be replaced by former Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, who will become the Reds’ fifth manager in 12 months.
Last month, Lina Souloukou was set to step down as chief executive officer. She was appointed in December 2024 and took up the post the following month.
Global head of football Edu will also be on his way out this summer. Arsenal’s former sporting director moved to the City Ground a year ago but the appointment has not worked out.
