The Tricky Trees have been uncharacteristically calm in the summer window, even though they pocketed an eye-watering sum from Elliot Anderson’s departure to Manchester City.

Highly rated attacking midfielder Gustavo Sa and free agent Xaver Schlager have been the only additions so far at the City Ground.

Oliver Glasner is heavily keen on bringing on Sporting Lisbon star Ousmane Diomande, but despite Forest’s best efforts, the deal is currently not progressing.

Evangelos Marinakis does not want to make any rushed decisions and the absence of a sports director since Edu Gaspar’s sacking back in March is being felt.

The Premier League outfit are currently keen on bringing an experienced head to their hierarchy to help guide the process.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, former Rossoneri technical director Moncada has emerged as the ideal choice for Forest.

The 40-year-old Frenchman is currently out of work and Nottingham Forest have ‘submitted a proposal’ to him.

Moncada has experience working at Ligue 1 giants Monaco and AC Milan – he stayed for eight years at the Serie A giants.

He was set to become French outfit Nice’s sporting director, but the 40-year-old decided not to take that role due to personal reasons.

Moncada started as an analyst at Les Rouge et Blanc and was snapped up by the Rossoneri back in 2018, where he was given the role of chief scout.

AC Milan promoted the Frenchman to be their technical director and left the Serie A giants only earlier this year.

Whether Moncada will accept Nottingham Forest’s proposal and when he might start with if he does remains to be seen.
