Besiktas Already Have an Agreement with Lazio for Nuno Tavares

In recent weeks, Besiktas placed themselves ahead of the queue after striking a club-to-club agreement with Lazio on the transfer fee and the formula. And yet, the Turkish giants haven’t been able to find an accord with the player.

Nuno Tavares Keeps Besiktas on Hold While Waiting for Como

According to Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina, Tavares isn’t convinced by the Besiktas option, as he only has eyes for Como, who have recently expressed their interest in the left-back. Even Cesc Fabregas admitted that the former Arsenal star is on their shortlist, which also includes Cruzeiro’s 22-year-old Brazilian left-back, Kaiki Bruno. The parties are now working on finding a solution.

Il Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) also reveals that Tavares has rejected the offer presented by the Istanbul-based club. The Roman newspaper adds that the Portuguese player had given the green light for a move to Al-Ittihad, who are coached by his compatriot Sergio Conceicao. The Saudi Pro League giants had enquired about the full-back’s services, but didn’t follow up with an offer.

Lazio’s Request & Arsenal’s Cut

Lazio have set their asking price at €15 million, but part of the transfer fee will be collected by Arsenal, who had negotiated a 35% sell-on fee when they sold Tavares to the Biancocelesti for just €6 million in the summer of 2024.
