Mallorca have this afternoon announced the contract extension of French midfielder Clément Grenier, who is now tied to the Spanish side until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The former Lyon man made the move to La Liga in March as a free agent, and notably helped the club stay up by scoring a goal against Osasuna, in what was just his fifth appearance for the club.
The 31-year-old, a five-time French international, had been without a club since his departure from Rennes at the end of the previous season. Before, that Grenier had spent six months at fellow Brittany side Guingamp.
The attacking midfielder had also been training with Lyon earlier this campaign to keep his fitness up, returning to his formative club where he spent 9 seasons in the first team squad, punctured by a brief loan spell at Roma.
Mallorca ended the season in 16th place, as they avoided relegation from the top flight for the first time since the 2011/12 season, having gained promotion the previous season.
