England international left-back Ben Chilwell (29) has left Strasbourg to join Crystal Palace FC, both clubs have announced. Palace have submitted a deal sheet for Chilwell, as the Alsatians add that the transfer is subject to the international transfer certificate. Chilwell signed for Strasbourg from Chelsea FC in a permanent deal last summer, penning a two-year deal. He featured 34 times for the Ligue 1 side.

The former England international was keen on the prospect of rejoining the Croydon outfit after previously spending the 2024-2025 campaign there on loan whilst he was contracted to Chelsea. With Palace, Chilwell notably won the 2025 Emirates FA Cup. Chilwell is the latest Strasbourg full-back to leave the BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side, after Guéla Doué, Abdoul Ouattara and Diego Moreira.

“It’s amazing to be back. It’s nice to see some familiar faces, and I’m just really excited to get back in, see the boys and the fans – and get going again“, said Chilwell in Palace’s press release.
