Hamburg have announced the signing of András Németh from Belgium side Genk. The 20-year-old forward is HSV’s third signing of the winter transfer window and has signed a contract until 2026.
Németh is a highly-rated promising talent. Despite only playing 396 minutes for Genk, the forward has scored three goals and assisted on three occasions. For Hungary U21s, the youngster has scored 8 goals in 11 games. The forward also made his debut for the Hungary senior team in November last year where he scored in a 2-2 draw against Luxembourg.
It’s clear that Németh is showing huge potential despite his age. HSV has taken the leap of faith and decided to get the youngster’s signature before anyone else.
The forward will wear number 20 for his new side and hope that he can be the difference as Hamburg aim to finally achieve promotion back to the Bundesliga since their relegation in 2018.
HSV sports director Jonas Boldt welcomed the new addition by saying: “Andras is a modern centre-forward who, in addition to his finishing quality, is also characterized by his understanding of the game. We looked at him back in the summer and see him as a player with multifaceted potential for development. In the talks, it was impressive to see how intensively he had dealt with HSV and our game idea.”
