Official: Arthur terminates Juventus contract

The Brazilian midfielder had returned to the club after a one-season loan spell at Gremio but had not played a competitive game for the Bianconeri since the 2021-22 campaign.

Juventus confirmed the midfielder’s contract termination on X, formerly Twitter, adding more details through an official statement, as quoted by Sport Mediaset: “This operation generates a negative economic impact of approximately €6m as a result of adjusting the net book value of the player’s right to sporting services,” the Bianconeri said.

Arthur moved to Juventus from Barcelona in the summer of 2020 in a player-plus-cash swap deal involving Miralem Pjanic.

He scored one goal and provided one assist in 63 appearances across all competitions with the Bianconeri, playing for several clubs on loan during his time under contract with Juventus.

Over the last four years, Arthur was loaned out to Liverpool, Fiorentina, Girona and Gremio, but none of these clubs ultimately made his move permanent, sending him back to Juventus.

Six years after Arthur’s transfer to Juventus, the two sides have officially parted ways.
