OL reserves to open N2 season in Meyzieu | OneFootball

OL’s reserves will start their N2 campaign in Meyzieu on Saturday 29 August, rather than at their usual base in Décines.

According to Le Progres, the change is due to OL Lyonnes staging a gala friendly the same day against another club dear to president Michele Kang, so a double programme was not possible.

The club’s academy has been based in Meyzieu for a decade, and pre-season there has featured a reconstituted Pro 2 group now led by Gueida Fofana alongside former under-17s coach Samy Saci.

Although the reserves usually train near the senior side, this youthful outfit could also supply players for the Youth League if the first team qualify via play-offs against Fenerbahçe.

They face Bourgoin-Jallieu in the opener, then from the third matchday they return to their regular venue, Stade Gérard-Houllier, to host Thonon Evian Grand Genève on Saturday 19 September.
