Oscar Mingueza ‘to decide’ next move next week amid Sunderland and Aston Villa links | OneFootball

Oscar Mingueza, linked with Sunderland and Aston Villa, is set to choose his next club next week, with Juventus no longer in the running, according to Mirko Di Natale.

The 27-year-old is a free agent after leaving Celta Vigo and has also been linked with Newcastle United. Sky Sports stated in May that his preference is to move to England.

Interest from Serie A has included Atalanta and Como.

A La Masia graduate, Mingueza made 66 senior appearances for Barcelona before joining Celta Vigo in summer 2022. He has four Spain caps and offers versatility across the back line. Primarily a right back, he can play left-back and centre-back.

Sunderland are expected to target defensive reinforcements this window following the departure of full-back Dennis Cirkin, and with uncertainty over 2025/26 loanee Lutsharel Geertruida.
