Palmer and Alexander-Arnold return to England squad | OneFootball

Thomas Tuchel has named his first England squad since the 2026 World Cup, with Cole Palmer and Trent Alexander-Arnold among the headline inclusions for the Three Lions’ upcoming Nations League fixtures.

The 27-man squad was announced on Friday ahead of an extended international window, with England set to face Spain, Czechia and Croatia across four matches.

England begin their campaign against reigning world champions Spain at Wembley on September 26, before travelling to Prague to face Czechia three days later. Tuchel’s side will then visit Croatia in Rijeka on October 3, before hosting Czechia at Wembley on October 6.

Palmer returns to the squad after missing the World Cup selection, having made a strong start to the new season with Chelsea. Alexander-Arnold is also back after more than a year away from the national team, despite featuring only once for England since Tuchel replaced Gareth Southgate.

Jarrad Branthwaite and Alex Scott are other notable inclusions, while Liverpool teenager Rio Ngumoha earns a place after an impressive start to the campaign.

Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Harry Kane are also included, while Jordan Henderson, Phil Foden, Dean Henderson and John Stones miss out.

England will be hoping to begin their Nations League campaign strongly as Tuchel continues to shape his squad following the World Cup.
