According to L'Équipe, Patrick Vieira will reveal his first Senegal squad in Dakar on Friday, and Malang Sarr will be included for the first time. The former RC Lens centre-back is 27.

Sarr is set to fulfil a dream by representing the country of his parents. He was a notable omission from Pape Thiaw’s 28 for the last World Cup.

Vieira, appointed on 18 August, will make the announcement at Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor in Dakar.

The former France Under-21 international has seven caps and now plays for Saudi side Neom Sports Club, having signed a three-year deal on 22 July.

He flew on Wednesday from Riyadh to Paris, from where he will continue to Africa.

Senegal will use the international window for three fixtures. They visit Mozambique on 25 September and Ethiopia on 29 September, both 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

They then return to France to face Comoros in a friendly at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille on Sunday four October.
