Paulistão 2026 table after round two as Santos slip, Bragantino lead

The second round of Paulistão 2026 concluded on Thursday night. Santos dropped to ninth after losing to Palmeiras at Arena Barueri, leaving them on three points and level goal difference. They face Guarani on Sunday, with their opponents 14th on one point.
Diario Do Peixe notes the standings after two rounds. Red Bull Bragantino lead on six points, ahead of Palmeiras on goal difference. Primavera are third with four points, followed by Velo Clube on the same tally.
Under the new format, all teams play eight matches in the first phase and the top eight advance to the quarter-finals, while the bottom two are relegated. The quarter-finals are single-leg ties, with first hosting eighth, second facing seventh, third meeting sixth, and fourth against fifth.
Round two produced 15 goals, an average of 1.87 per match. There were six home wins, one draw and one away victory.
