Cesar Peixoto admits Jose Sa could still leave Wolves before Tuesday’s deadline, with the head coach saying the goalkeeper’s future is not 100 per cent certain.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Peixoto said Wolves are prepared to act in the market if circumstances change in the coming days, though he would prefer Sa to remain at Molineux.

He confirmed Sam Johnstone is not in his plans after this week’s arrivals of Joao Virginia and John Ruddy, although Johnstone continues to train with the first team.

Sa has started the last two matches. The 33-year-old was widely expected to depart earlier in the summer but has not yet secured a move.

Peixoto added that the club have alternatives lined up should Sa depart. However, his preference is for the Portugal international to stay.

He also wants a right-sided, left-footed winger and potentially a striker to back up Raul Jimenez and Adam Armstrong, stressing he will only add players who improve the squad.
