The National Police have identified the Levante supporter whose bottle struck Eray Cömert after last Sunday’s derby with Valencia. He was identified during Wednesday’s game against Villarreal at the Ciutat de València.

AS reports that police and Levante had reviewed security footage since Sunday and had clear images of the culprit’s face. LaLiga has reported the incident to the Competition Committee and the Anti-violence Commission, but his identity and whether he was a season-ticket holder remained unknown.

During the Villarreal match, officers monitored cameras in the Tribuna and cross-checked them with Sunday’s footage. Once they confirmed the same person was in the ground, police asked him to leave his seat midway through the first half for identification.

Levante will decide in the coming days what measures to take now he has been confirmed as a season-ticket holder.

The National Police will submit his details to the Anti-violence Commission, which will address the post-match incidents on three March. That agenda includes Cömert picking up a corner flag to use as a flag and the throwing of objects onto the pitch.
