Porto’s move for Milan striker Santiago Giménez could be complicated, with Real Betis considering a move that may disrupt Francesco Farioli’s plans to bolster the attack. El Correo de Andalucía reports the 25-year-old Mexico international is being lined up after Betis missed out on Franjo Ivanovic.
The Croatian forward left Benfica for Lens for the 2026/27 season, a switch that could indirectly nudge Betis towards Giménez and hinder Porto’s pursuit.
Giménez is among the forwards monitored by Porto, yet Betis are not solely focused on him, with Arnaud Kalimuendo also under consideration.
The Frenchman has returned to Nottingham Forest after a loan at Eintracht Frankfurt. In the second half of last season he made 19 appearances, scoring six goals and providing one assist in all competitions.
Betis could now view Giménez as a more accessible option for their attack, potentially placing another obstacle in Porto’s way. Benfica’s Ivanovic departure to Lens may, indirectly, have contributed to that change of plans.
