Like his early spell in Glasgow, when it took almost six months to hit top form and start producing goal contributions, Kuhn is once more experiencing a gradual adjustment period at Serie A side Como.

The German attacker joined the Italian club in July following a few outstanding displays at Celtic – especially in the Champions League, but he is still waiting for his first goal or assist after five outings for Cesc Fabregas’ men who sit eighth in Serie A.

Kuhn’s first appearance came as a late substitute against Lazio, featuring for only a minute, but his involvement has slowly increased since. He played 33 minutes against Bologna, starting against both Genoa and Fiorentina, and playing the second half against Cremonese.

However, his impact on the Lake has been minimal so far, and he was not in the squad for Como’s latest fixture against Atalanta prior to the international break.

Surprisingly, Como have struggled for goals this season despite spending a fortune, and the creative spark Kuhn was expected to bring has yet to materialise.

Meanwhile, Celtic supporters were reminded that parting ways with Adam Idah may have been the sensible decision after he missed another big chance for Ireland against Armenia on Tuesday.

Yet to start a game for Swansea, the big Irishman has one goal in five games for the English Championship side. Roma’s Evan Ferguson – who scored the winner against Armenia at the Aviva earlier this week – is being selected ahead of Idah by under-fire Irish boss Heimir Hallgrimsson.

£7 million was decent business for Celtic given that Idah had completely lost all his confidence towards the latter stages of his Hoops career.

Like Kuhn at Como, it has not been a glittering start for the 23 year-old since leaving Celtic but that could change after the international break.

Swansea currently sit 12th in the Championship having accumulated 12 points from nine games so far this season.
