Press review: Belgium/France, Doué possibly up front, Barthez method | OneFootball

This Monday, September 28, the French press (from a sporting perspective) had nothing direct to report regarding Paris Saint-Germain. However, there is the possible use of Désiré Doué (21-year-old forward/midfielder) as a number 9 with the France national team tonight against Belgium (kick-off at 8:45 p.m., broadcast on TF1) in the Nations League. The Bleus, with Fabien Barthez as goalkeeping coach, are also in the spotlight today. On the other side, there is Mika Godts, who arrives full of confidence, as the 21-year-old forward delivered a strong performance against Italy.

L’Equipe –

Nothing is certain yet regarding coach Zinedine Zidane’s choices tonight, as there are many options available. The two media outlets do not even agree on Doué’s position, as he is an extremely versatile player. In any case, he should be in the starting lineup, and he will need to make the most of it to earn points in the face of strong competition. He will be up against a very good team, including Godts. An interesting match is expected tonight, with nothing easy for either side.

Mike Maignan will likely need to be at his best, with good preparation alongside Barthez. The first match was convincing, but that is not everything. However, there are no concerns given the personality and experience of the former Bleus goalkeeper.
