PSV Eindhoven are eying a move for VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Aster Vranckx, Algemeen Dagblad reports. The 20-year-old Belgian international spent last season on loan at AC Milan where he featured 10 times. The player has spoken to PSV’s technical director Earnest Stewart and head coach Peter Bosz about a possible move to the Philips Stadion.

Vranckx kicked off his career with KV Mechelen in the Belgian Pro League. The youngster made 47 appearances, scoring five goals and providing four assists in his home country. In the summer of 2021, VfL Wolfsburg signed Vranckx for €8m. He played 29 times in Germany before his loan move to Milan.

PSV have already said goodbye to their Mexican midfielder Erick Gutiérrez this summer and a departure from Ibrahim Sangaré can’t be ruled out. Peter Bosz has identified Vranckx as suitable reinforcement and the club ideally want to sign him on a permanent deal. PSV first want to convince the versatile midfielder of the move before negotiating a fee with Wolfsburg. His current contract with the Bundesliga club expires in 2025.

Aster Vranckx is a physically strong and skilled centre-midfielder. He’s also played at defensive and attacking midfield in the past. Last month, Vranckx made his senior Belgium national team debut in their Euro qualifier against Austria. The match ended 1-1 and the midfielder featured for the final 14 minutes. Three days later he was in the starting line-up for the Red Devils in their game against Estonia.
