Real Madrid have confirmed that they are set to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.

PSG had originally been leading the race for the 19-year-old, however, the European champions ended their pursuit after having a bid of over £100 million turned down.

Liverpool also had a bid for the Ivory Coast international rejected earlier in the window, before turning their attention elsewhere.

Diomande was recognised as the Bundesliga’s Young player of the Season last term. He netted 12 goals and registered eight assists in the league last season, with Madrid set to pay a reported £120m for the youngster.

He will join as Real Madrid’s sixth signing of the summer since Jose Moruinho retuned to the club, following the arrivals of Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, Marc Cucurella and Carlos Espi.

The Spanish side have offered the Brazilian improved terms on a contract extension and remain optimistic of keeping him. However, Arsenal are continuing to monitor the situation with hopes of landing him.
