There is relief for Olympique de Marseille, who have learned that Amine Gouiri’s injury is not serious. The forward left the Algeria national team after sustaining an injury against Zambia last Friday.

The former OGC Nice and Stade Rennais forward returned to Marseille as a precaution, and, as per a report from L’Équipe, his injury is not serious. It is simply a minor thigh issue, and it is not expected to rule him out of OM’s game against ESTAC Troyes on 11th October. He is not yet training with the first team, however. There is still uncertainty surrounding Himad Abdelli. For now, he remains with the Algeria national team but he sustained an ankle injury in their last match.

There is more certainty surrounding Derek Cornelius, whose hip injury will rule him out until the start of 2027. Tochukwu Nnadi is expected to return to first-team training this week, having sustained a knee injury back in August, but Geoffrey Kondogbia, who sustained a thigh injury in the same game (against AS Monaco) remains sidelined.
