Finding a new striker was key for Stade Rennais this summer after they lost last season’s top scorer, Arnaud Kalimuendo, to Nottingham Forest. The club decided to replace his goalscoring feats with not one, but two strikers.

Esteban Lepaul made his debut against his former side Angers SCO before the international break, scoring in the 1-1 draw, while Breel Embolo was signed the day after the match on transfer deadline day in a €13m move from AS Monaco.

Habib Beye will waste no time blooding his new strikers and will likely line up with Lepaul and Embolo leading the line (the latter replacing Musa Al-Taamari in the teamsheet). Elsewhere, there should be no other changes, as the squad look to secure their second victory of the season.
