Robin Risser out of France squad, Jean Butez handed first call-up | OneFootball

Robin Risser has withdrawn from the France squad after medical talks with RC Lens, with Jean Butez called up. According to L'Équipe, Zinedine Zidane loses a goalkeeper from his first list.

Risser is physically hindered and is believed to have a rib problem, so he will miss the camp and the new coach’s first four matches.

Butez, 31, came through Lille before moving to Belgium then joining Como in January 2025. He started on Sunday against Frosinone for the Lombardy club and conceded two in a 0-2 defeat.

He joins a goalkeeper group featuring first-choice Mike Maignan of AC Milan and fellow debutant Guillaume Restes of Toulouse.

France visit Türkiye on 25 September at 20:45, then travel to Belgium on 28 September at 20:45. They then host Italy on 2 October at 20:45 and Belgium on 5 October at 20:45.
