Rodinei to join Santos after Olympiacos spell | OneFootball

Rodinei has returned to Brazilian football. The right-back will play for Santos after a spell with Olympiacos, linking up with ex-Flamengo pair Willian Arão and Gabigol.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the defender has been with Olympiacos since 2023. He arrives as Santos look to salvage their season.

Santos sit 14th, one place above Internacional who are in the relegation zone, and could slip into the bottom four if they lose to Corinthians at Neo Química Arena on Sunday 30.

Signed by Flamengo in 2016, Rodinei left in 2022 after failing to agree a new deal, having spent 2020 to 2021 on loan at Internacional. His honours with Flamengo include Libertadores in 2019 and 2022, Brasileirão 2019 and Copa do Brasil 2022.

His peak came in 2022, when sections of the Brazilian press even pushed for a World Cup call-up. In the Libertadores final against Athletico-PR he combined with Everton Ribeiro on the right. Everton Ribeiro crossed for Gabigol to score the only goal. Against Corinthians in the Copa do Brasil final he converted the decisive penalty.
