Romagnoli agent says Al-Sadd talks have slowed, not thinking about Lazio future | OneFootball

Alessio Romagnoli’s proposed switch to Al-Sadd remains unresolved.

“The negotiations slowed down, understandably, after the death of the ex-Emir and for reasons based around the war,” explained agent Vincenzo Raiola to Sport Mediaset.

“We are waiting for the Qatari minister to put a budget at the disposal of the clubs so they can reach agreements with other teams. The negotiations with Al-Sadd, consequently, are still open, even if the timing of a breakthrough is not entirely clear.”

The deal had seemed agreed for around €3m over a month ago, after a near agreement in January fell through before the deadline. Yesterday Romagnoli resumed pre-season training with Gennaro Gattuso’s Lazio squad.

“At the moment we are not thinking about a future at Lazio.”

Romagnoli is under contract with Lazio until June 2027. The 31-year-old is a lifelong Biancocelesti supporter and joined as a free agent from Milan in the summer of 2022. He has made 161 competitive appearances for the club, with eight goals and two assists.
